D Magazine: A Malaysian Street Food Fundraiser for Human Rights Initiative, Loro Eyes Addison
“Plano’s Secret Recipe chef-owner Alex Ong has partnered with Human Rights Day DFW for a fundraiser that will serve Malaysian street food in honor of the internationally recognized Human Rights Day on Dec. 10. The dinner will take place Dec. 7 at Secret Recipe and will feature eight different Malaysian dishes for attendees, including roti telor, char kuey teow, and curry laksa.
All the proceeds will go to support the Human Rights Initiative of North Texas, an organization that aids those who come to Dallas-Fort Worth seeking asylum. Human Rights Day organizer Sanjeeb Samanta says the meal-driven event is the first of its kind for the organization, and he decided to partner with Secret Recipe because of Ong’s previous work with HRI of North Texas.”
